SMM2 SMB1 ON/OFF and dotted-block source sprites — 2026-10-05

The six .original.png files preserve the public MarioWiki original PNG responses
byte for byte. Artwork is Nintendo's copyrighted Super Mario Maker 2, Super
Mario Bros. style artwork. Public availability is not an open-content licence.
These files are included only for the authorized private learning comparison;
image rights remain separate from the workshop's MIT code licence. Source file
pages, direct URLs, byte hashes, native RGBA hashes and dimensions are listed in
SOURCE_ASSETS.json. Some MarioWiki file metadata credits The Spriters Resource
for extraction; that service was not accessed by this source-art handoff.

The ON/OFF switch and active red/blue blocks are native 16 x 16. Inactive red/blue
sprites are native 14 x 14, placed at (1,1) in the same unchanged 16 x 16 cell;
they are not stretched. Exact rows/palette/alpha are encoded once in
editor-smm2-switch-source-pixels.mjs. The study renderer and generic static
source registry share those same frozen objects. Repeated block spans clip to
the actual bounds, and the source's bottom/right edge stays inside the switch.
No screenshot crop, authored glyph, recolour or outside-cell shadow is added.

Scope is SMB1 only. A study room without an art profile uses the workshop's
native SMB1 style. The explicit SMB3 room opt-in and other style profiles keep
the legacy authored approximation, which is not an original SMB3 sprite claim.
No author format, schema, state binding, collision, input, bump duration,
impulse, cooldown, score rule, sound or timing is changed by this artwork.

The genuine Story Job28 observations at actual 9.198606 and 9.581881 seconds
verify the ON/red-active/blue-inactive to OFF/red-inactive/blue-active state
chain. Those finite frames cannot calibrate animation timing or physics. The
native ON PNG is the bright pink-letter phase; the 9.198606 source frame shows
dark ON letters. An inactive red highlight phase also differs. The static PNG
phase is preserved, with no invented blinking clock, period or dark glyph mask.
There is no recovered continuous original animation in this artwork release.
